Metal & Clear Braces

Orthodontics for Children

Dr. Zhou has successfully completed more than one thousand orthodontic cases. Her experience assures that you will have beautiful teeth when you smile.

It’s best for the doctor to see children by age 7 to advise if orthodontic treatment is required. The first permanent molars and incisors usually come in by that time and cross bite, crowding, and other problems can be evaluated. Early treatment can guide the growth of the jaw and the incoming permanent teeth, avoid the need for permanent tooth extractions, reduce likelihood of impacted permanent teeth, correct thumb-sucking, and eliminate abnormal swallowing or speech problems. In other words, early treatment can simplify later treatment.

In most cases early intervention will not be required. At this point the doctor will normally monitor the case and advise the parent as to when their child is ready for routine orthodontics.

Orthodontics for Adults

Orthodontic treatment can be successful at any age and adults especially appreciate the benefits of a beautiful smile. Ceramic clear braces, which are very attractive alternatives to metal braces, are a cosmetic way for adults to address their orthodontic needs. Treatment plans can be tailored to fit your needs and coordinated with cosmetic dentistry and physicians to help you achieve your desired goals. Adults find significant accomplishments can be attained because the drive and cooperation of adult patients provide a good foundation for successful orthodontic treatment.

At Crystal Smile, you will consult with Dr. Zhou to determine your orthodontic treatment in combination with your cosmetic or general dentistry treatment needed (such as crowns, bridges, implants or partial dentures). The comprehensive cases will offer diagnose and treatment choices, benefits and risks, and realistic expectations of your final orthodontic result before you begin wearing braces. When necessary, we can also coordinate all other needed dentistry at the same time to maximize the efficiency of each dental visit.
